OUR VISION
The Cultural and Sport Center, Library of Bük, an institution collecting and exploring information, the basic institution of the information and knowledge-based society, which is suitable for the useful spending of free time, for self-education and improving of knowledge. An informational and educational center and knowledge base. It is continuously adjusting its collection according to the local demands and expectations, aiming modernity and renewal. Our library is having close relationships with the institutions and civil society organizations of Bük city and also with the libraries and educational institutions of the region.
It reserves its traditional function of a library and it gives scope for the new technical challenges, methods, for the modern library applications (e.g. web2, web3), for the electronic information. A workplace, educational site equipped with modern technical instruments. In addition to the daily increasing of stock, it produces, explores and mediates digitalized and electronic documents as well. It is enriching and taking care of the city’s local history collection. It mediates the library system’s services aiming completeness, also extending to its external environment. Its services are of high quality. It continuously increases the number of personal and on-line users. It provides its role of cultural mediation by involving users, helping their self-realization. Its aesthetic environment is a community-building area at the same time, which provides space for quality-level, personal, intimate presentations, intense learning, cultural events, courses. Librarians have many accomplishments, they are opened, empathic, creative, helpful, with excellent communicational skills and hardworking, professionally dedicated and user-oriented. The library ensures for disadvantaged persons to be able to use services with equal chances.
From the point of its operation the budgetary sources will keep on being the safest ones. Completing this, it is seeking for and using all other sources for the developments, programs and for achieving the planned targets. Therefore it is monitoring the support and application possibilities.
OUR MISSION
As the organizational unit of the Cultural and Sport Center, Library of Bük, the public libraries of Bük city we are aiming to provide the treasures of the Hungarian and universal culture, the access to the national and international information and knowledge for the people residing, working and spending holiday in the settlements and for everyone visiting our institutions.
For the fulfillment of this goal we are supporting:
· the development of “literacy”,
· the lifelong self-education,
· studying in the different fields of education,
· getting the citizenship knowledge and information on the legal regulations necessary for the participation in public life,
· obtaining the information and knowledge necessary for the orientation in the issues of culture, science and art,
· the useful spending of free time.
For the fulfillment of our goals:
· we are forming a professionally explored collection with works of valuable polite literature, music and pictures, quality-level and meaningful professional-scientific documents, and the ones referring to the motherland;
· beside the traditional library services we are intensively improving our web services and database, to which we are providing access after the opening hours as well;
· we are organizing the establishment, mediation and exchange of library services as well;
· we are helping the work of the agglomeration’s libraries with professional advice, according to the cooperation agreements.
Our institution is trying its best to operate as modern libraries and information centers -in accordance with the maintaining local government’s plans- which are providing high-level services to the city and its agglomeration’s residents, professionals, guests on holiday and the students participating in the education
